The Special court in Bangalore is today recording the statement of Sasikala in the disproportionate assets case against Tamilnadu Chief Minister Jayalalithaa. Sasikala is accused no 2 in the case. The recording of statement began today after Supreme court rejected her appeal for written reply and ordered that she personally appear before the court just like accused number one, Jayalalithaa.The Tamilnadu Chief Minister is accused of amassing 66 crore rupees wealth, disproportionate to her known sources of income during her tenure as Chief Minister in 1991-96. The Special Court Judge B.M. Mallikarjunaiah resumed hearing Sasikala’a statement today with the help of a Tamil knowing translator. AIR Correspondent adds that the recording of statement and simulateous translation from Tamil to English will continue till all the questions sought by the court are exhausted.
