President Mahinda Rajapaksa says, all the eligible war displaced civilians in the North and the East of the country will be able to exercise their franchise in the forthcoming Presidential election. He said this in a breakfast meeting with the editors of the leading newspapers. Election Secretariat sources, said,there are more than 14 million Sri Lankans who will be eligible to vote in the upcoming Presidential and Parliamentary election. Meanwhile, JVP has formally invited retired General Sarath Fonseka to be their common candidate in the Presidential election. Talking to the press, JVP MP, Anura Kumara Dissanayaka said that talks regarding this with Sarath Fonseka have been successful.
