Against the backdrop of claims made by a former CAG official that its report on 2G spectrum was influenced by PAC, government yesterday favoured a discussion in Lok Sabha on the matter. Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kamal Nath said that there must be a discussion on the claims of former CAG official R P Singh. Even DMK demanded discussion served a notice in this regard in Lok Sabha.
Meanwhile, the government has demanded a clarification from the Public Accounts Committee and Comptroller and Auditor General on the issue, while the BJP whose nominee Murli Manohar Joshi heads the PAC has called the allegations of R P Singh baseless.
