Discussion between PM Modi, his Nepalese counterpart positive and productive: Foreign Secy

Foreign Secretary S Jaishankar has said discussion between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his Nepalese counterpart Sher Bahadur Deuba was positive and productive. <br/><br/>Briefing media in New Delhi, Mr Jaishankar said, the two leaders reviewed the progress of ongoing projects and discussed how to chart out future projects. He said, during the meeting of the two Prime Ministers it was felt that there was a need to be more vigilant on open border to avoid its misuse. <br/><br/>Nepal Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the assistance that India has provided for the local level elections. He said, Mr Modi welcomed successful conduct of two phases of local level polls in Nepal. <br/><br/>In reply to a question, Mr Jaishankar said the Doklam issue did not figure during the talks between Prime Minister Modi and Prime Minister Deuba. He also said that there was no specific discussion on SAARC.
