<span style="color: #222222;">Secretary in Human Resource Development Ministry Amit Khare has said that he has held detailed discussions with the Vice-Chancellor of Delhi University regarding the problems of Ad-hoc teachers. </span><br />'' <br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">Mr Khare said he has also asked the DU VC to take steps to fill the vacant faculty positions and resolve promotion related issues. He was speaking at the inauguration of the New Wing of Shivaji College in New Delhi yesterday. </span><br />'' <br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">During his speech, Mr Khare said that teachers are the backbone of the education system and while working for quality education, there should be focus on resolving the challenges being faced by the teaching community. </span><br />'' <br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">During the inaugural function, Mr Khare paid tributes to Chatrapati Shivaji Maharaj and said that it is both pertinent and meaningful that the new block is named after Matashree Jijabai, Shivaji's mother who played a definitive role in his upbringing.&nbsp;</span>
