Defence Minister Nirmala Sitaraman today asked the Tamil Nadu government to hold talks with stakeholders to find out what is required for the defence industry for the next 50 years.<br/>'<br/>Speaking at the ASSOCHAM meeting in Chennai for a vibrant defence industrial complex for Tamilnadu, she assured that the Centre would back an idea that was "futuristic".<br/><br/>The Minister stressed the need for involving MSMEs in the manufacturing of defence items. She said that the Government was ready to bring together innovators, experts from the defence forces and also the industry together for the benefit of marching towards self reliance in indigeous defence equipments. <br/><br/>The Minister told that the Government would give a conscious push for procuring defence equipments. Ms. Sitaraman pointed out that the PSUs involved in defence production would be revamped and energised with state of the art technologies.<br/>
