Bangladesh foreign minister Dipu Moni's is in Tripura today to restart bilateral dialogues of mutual benefit. The visit is significant as the development and security of the north-eastern states is intimately connected to the growth and development in Bangladesh. External affairs sources said in New Delhi, a number of India-Bangladesh initiatives are to be taken following the visit .This will jointly benefit the north-eastern states and Bangladesh. India has agreed to build a bridge on the Feni River connecting Sabroom in India with Ramgarh in Bangladesh. An agreement between the two countries last year said Bangladesh would provide access to Ashuganj Port to facilitate transportation of over-dimensional consignments for the Palatana power project in Tripura. India has also agreed to build the Akhaura- Agartala railway link. Meanwhile, in another significant move, both the countries held their first boundary talks after five years yesterday.
