Senior Congress leader Digvijay Singh has demanded a probe into the allegations of reported dubious funding of companies of BJP President Nitin Gadkari. In a letter to Prime Minister Digvijay Singh called for constituting an enquiry by serious fraud investigation office. The letter was released to the media on Tuesday.
The BJP on the other hand, strongly criticized the Congress for demanding a probe against Gadkari while refusing investigations in the corruption charges against Robert Vadra. Party spokesperson Nirmala Sitaraman said that BJP President was prepared to face any investigation by the competent authority.
In a related development, Corporate Affairs Minister Veerappa Moily said that he has asked the Secretary and the Registrar of Companies to look into the allegations levelled against BJP President. He said, if any violation is found a proper investigation will be ordered.
