In Rajya Sabha, Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi has said the Digital India programme is a revolutionary step to transform the nation and the Government is ready for a full-fledged discussion on the charges being made by the opposition about the programme. <br/><br/>Responding to allegations of the Government favouring the firm PayTM following demonetization, he said the charge is far from the truth. <br/><br/>Raising the issue of charging fee for digital transactions, Samajwadi Party's Naresh Aggarwal said PayTM's total business from 2010 to 2017 so far has been 3 billion rupees whereas it is projected to reach 5 billion rupees by the end of this year. He also said, charges being levied for banking transactions and card payments would affect the public adversely though the Government is encouraging cashless transactions.
