In Uttar Pradesh, the district police Chief at Meerut has been suspended and district magistrate removed following violence in the district two days ago. State Cabinet Secretary Shashank Shekhar Singh told at Lucknow on Tuesday evening that both the officials are charged for reaching late at the incident site. Incidents of stone pelting and arson had taken place after alleged misbehaviour with a religious leader. Three persons have been arrested in this regard. About 2 dozen people have also been arrested for their alleged involvement in the communal clash.Meanwhile district administration has claimed that normalcy is returning very fast in the town and all educational institutions are open. 13 companies of security forces including central Para military forces have been deployed in violence affected areas to check untoward incident.
