Diesel prices have been hiked by 50 paise per litre, including VAT. The new rates came into effect from midnight last night. Diesel will now cost Rs 44.95 per litre in Delhi, Rs 48.71 in Kolkata, Rs 52.08 in Mumbai, and Rs 46.08 in Chennai. There is no change in the prices of Petrol.<br/><br/>In a statement, Indian Oil Corporation said, the decision has been taken in view of increase in international price of diesel and change in rupee dollar exchange rate.
