Didn't promise to bring black money within 100 days of assuming power: Govt

The government today denied that it has promised at any point of time to bring black money stashed abroad within 100 days after assuming power. Intervening in the discussion on the black money, Parliamentary Affairs Minister Venkaiah Naidu dismissed the opposition allegation and said that the ruling BJP has also not mentioned in its election manifesto,2014 about bringing back the black money in 100 days.

He said, BJP has promised in its manifesto of taking measures minimizing corruption and generation of black money in 100 days. He said government is serious on the issue and cooperation of opposition is needed.

Discussion on the issue resumed in the Lok Sabha in post lunch session. Participating in the discussion, Mulayam Singh Yadav of Samajwadi party accused the government of not fulfilling its assurances of bringing the illegal wealth back. Mr Yadav said that people believed the government and Prime Minister Narendra Modi but now they feel deceived.
