Didn't go to Sanjay Dutt's house and give him weapons in 1993: Abu Salem

Gangster Abu Salem has denied his role in the 1993 Mumbai serial blasts case. Salem claimed that he does not know any of the co-accused in the 1993 blasts case. In his statement submitted before the special TADA court in Mumbai yesterday, Abu Salem said that neither did he gave any AK-47 rifle and hand grenades to actor Sanjay Dutt nor did he collect any such items from Dutt's house prior to the blasts.

In his statement, Salem has further contended that the trial is illegal, unwarranted and bad in law as the Portugal court has cancelled his extradition to India. He adds that the trial based on police custody, forced confession and new fabricated material is illegal.

While Dutt was convicted for illegal possession of arms and sentenced to five years in jail, Abu Salem along with 5 others is facing trail now as they were arrested much later into the case.

Salem also said that he wants to examine former CBI officer OP Chatwal and two officials from the Ministry of External Affairs.
