Dialogue, mutual understanding is key to end violence in J&K: Sonia

The Congress President Mrs. Sonia Gandhi has said that the dialogue and mutual understanding is the key to end the cycle of violence and tragic killings in Jammu and Kashmir. Addressing the general body meeting of the Congress Parliamentary Party, Mrs. Gandhi said that the Prime Minister has unveiled a blue print of reconciliation and reconstruction stemming from sincere and genuine desire to engage the people of the state and this has been and will remain our agenda. She said that reaching out to the people most importantly the youth is the need of the hour. While expressing anguish at what has been happening there Mrs. Sonia Gandhi said that the whole generation has grown up under the shadow of brutality and conflict and the anger and pain specially among the youth needs to be addressed.On the Commonwealth Games she said that this is the time for all to come together and ensure their success as the prestige of the nation is involved. She said that once the game are over the government will look into the allegations of malpractice and no one found involved will be spared.Mrs Sonia Gandhi said that controlling prices is the top priority but a constant vigil needs to be maintained. She also said that steps are being taken to fulfill the promise in the manifesto on food security.On the menace of Naxalism Mrs. Gandhi said that protecting the rights of tribals and ensuring their livelihood are central to bring to an end their exploitation and sense of alienation.Ahead of the assembly elections in Bihar Mrs. Sonia Gandhi said that the message that the UPA government has given Bihar unprecedented financial assistance for development and welfare programmes must reach the people of Bihar.
