Dial 1950-toll free for election related complaints

The Election Commission has opened for the first time a 24-hour call centre to register poll-related complaints.

The telephone number will be 1950, the year the election panel was born.

Chief Election Commissioner S.Y. Quraishi said every poll going state shall have a complaint redressal mechanism based on website and call centre. The telephone number will be toll free.

Complainants will get to know about the action taken on SMS and from the call centre.
