India further consolidated their position today by extending their first innings lead to 347 runs against South Africa on the third day of the second cricket test at Eden Gardens, Kolkata V V S Laxman and skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni slammed tons, making use of the lacklustre feilding by the visitors. Laxman scored 143 runs while Dhoni made 132. India declared their first innings at 643 for 6. South Africa were 6 for no loss as stumps were drawn early due to bad light conditions.The scores so far: South Africa-296 and 6 without loss; India-643 for 6 declared.
