The issue of illegal mining stalled both the Houses of Legislatures in Karnataka today. After the overnight Dharna in the lobby of Assembly House, the entire opposition demanded CBI enquiry against illegal mining in the House today. They also demanded the tainted ministers in the government should be ousted. Unrelenting to this demand, the government considered entrusting the enquiry against the illegal mining to the Lokayukta.

When the stand-off continued, the Speaker of the Assembly and Chairman of the Council adjourned the Houses till Wednesday. The entire opposition has decided to continue their Dharna tonight also in the lobby of the House till their demands are met.
