In the first One Day Cricket New Zealand made a poor start against India. They were 42 for 3 in 10 overs a short while ago. Opener Martin Guptill was first to go for 12 runs. Hardik Pandya who made his ODI debut struck the first blow. Skipper Kane Williamson was the next man out followed by Ross Tailor. Umesh Yadav captured the second and third wicket. India won the toss and elected to bowl first in the match being played in Dharamsala. The mantle of captaincy has change hands from Virat Kohli to Mahendra Singh Dhoni. Team India will look forward to carry on their dominance over New Zealand after sweeping the Test series three-nil. Though in the shorter format India had overall more wins against New Zealand, but the Kiwis won four of the last five ODIs against India. One match was tied.
