Dhalkebar ‘ Muzafffapur power line within next 3 years

Nepal government and the concerned Indian stake holders along with the World Bank agreed to complete the construction of the 140 kilometer long 400 KV cross border power transmission line between Dhalkebar in Nepal and Muzafffapur in India within next three years.<br/> The agreement was reached following a meeting of the stakeholders in Kathmandu. The meeting agreed to complete project within 18 to 24 months of signing the power purchase agreement by May next year. After completion, the project would enable both the countries to export and import power through the same line.<br/> As per the agreement, Nepal will construct 45 kms of the transmission project with the financial support of 29 million US dollars from the World Bank and India will construct the remaining transmission line at an estimated cost of 30 million dollars.
