Dhaka Court frames charges against 6 persons in connection with blogger Avijit murder case

<span style="color: #222222;">A Dhaka Court today framed charges against six persons belonging to the militant outfit Ansar Al Islam in connection with the murder of blogger Avijit Roy in Dhaka in 2015. </span><br />'' <br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">The trial of the case will start from September 11. The accused includes a sacked army major Ziaul Haque who has been absconding since the case came up.</span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;"><br />'' The US-based Bangladeshi blogger Avijit Roy was hacked to death near Dhaka University in February 2015. His wife was also seriously injured in the attack but survived.</span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;"><br />'' Avijit Roy was an atheist secular blogger and activist who wrote against religious extremism, superstition and orthodoxy. His killing had led to a huge international uproar and domestic protest as it came amid a series of attacks and murder of bloggers in Bangladesh who wrote against religious extremism between 2013-16.</span><br />'' <br />
