The Directorate General of Civil Aviation, DGCA, has de-rostered six pilots of three airline operators – Kingfisher, Go Air and NACIL.. The move follows the skidding of King Fisher aircraft in Mumbai yesterday. It has also issued show-cause notices to three operators for alleged violation of its directions regarding wet runway operations The DGCA which ordered investigation into yesterday's incident has also issued fresh guidelines to all airlines to avoid recurrence of such incidents. It is also undertaking a safety assessment for short runway operations at Mumbai international airport. The guidelines say that no operation shall take place when runway surface is wet. Pilots are required to file de-briefing report after every flight. As reported, the King Fisher aircraft skidded off the runway while landing at Mumbai, resulting in the damage of the aircraft. However, all passengers and crew were evacuated safely.
