DGCA calls meet with flying schools on Tuesday

The Directorate General of Civil Aviation, DGCA has favoured a complete revamp of the procedure to issue licenses to pilots. Its DG EK Bharat Bhushan said, a meeting of all flying schools has been called on Tuesday to put together an action plan to tackle the problem of fudging of documents to obtain licenses. Talking to reporters in Hyderabad yesterday, he said, DGCA is going to appoint a third party to scrutinize aviation academies which needed complete scrutiny. On foreign flying schools, Mr Bhushan said the DGCA has decided not to take the licenses issues by international schools on the face value.Meanwhile, Delhi police has arrested four more persons in connection with the fake flying license scam. Those arrested include Assistant Director in DGCA Pradeep Kumar, pilot Pradeep Tyagi and two touts. One of them has been identified as Lalit Jain. With the fresh arrests, the total number of people arrested in this connection so far has gone upto 10.DGCA had already grounded 14 pilots for obtaining their licences by submitting fake records and documents.
