The 36th Director General level meeting between the Border Security Force,BSF and Border Guards Bangladesh, BGB will begin in Dhaka today. A twenty two member BSF delegation led by its Director General Mr. U K Bansal is scheduled to arrive in Dhaka today to participate in the talks with the BGB delegation which will be led by its Director General Major General Anwar Hussain. During the five day talks, both sides are expected to discuss the entire gamut of issues related to border management, prevention of cross-border illegal activities, drug trafficking, improving coordination and exchange of information. In addition to this they will also discuss measures to further enhance cooperation in the areas of joint inspections, maintenance of border pillars and capacity building. The two sides will also discuss the steps taken with regard to several confidence building measures such as exchange visits of wards of BSF & BGB officers and sports exchanges. The five-day conference will end with the signing of a joint record of discussions on September 29th.
