Director General (News) and Director General of All India Radio Dr Vasudha Gupta paid a visit to AIR Aizawl station in Aizawl today. In a meeting with the officials of the station, Dr Gupta was briefed about the broadcasting facilities and program activities provided to the listeners. DG Dr Gupta is on a week-long visit to different AIR stations of the North East region.<br />” <br />” On the occasion, Smt Gupta spoke about new initiatives to be taken up, especially in promoting traditional music and folk songs. She urged the staff to make a proposal in showcasing Mizo identity to the rest of the world, through radio programmes.<br />” <br />”The Director General also interacted with the staff of the Regional News Unit of the station and reviewed the activities of the RNU. She also inspected the facilities of the News Room and Studios. DR Lalropuia, Director (Engg) of the station, Manghangam Touthang Director (News) of Doordarshan Aizawl and other officials were present in the meeting.
