Devotees in huge numbers turned up at various temples across Odisha to offer prayers to Lord Ram and seek blessings of the God on the occasion of Ram Navami today. In the capital city Bhubaneswar, Ram Navami celebrations began early morning with gaiety and religious fervour at Rama Temple in Janpath, as hundreds of devotees lined up to offer their prayers to Lord Ram, Lakshman and Devi Sita. Security was tightened to ensure a smooth darshan of the God. <br/><br/>Temples across the state are decorated with glittery lights where Bhajan and Ram Leela are being organised to mark the day. Musical presentations of Ramacharita Manas and Ram Katha Amrit have been organised in various shrines in Bhubaneswar. In Cuttack, special arrangements have been made at Chahata ghat temple. In Puri Sri Mandir, special rituals were conducted to mark the occasion. Ram Navami falls on the ninth day of the Hindu lunar year or Navaratri and is celebrated as the birthday of Lord Rama.
