<span style="color: #222222;">In Maharashtra, devotees in Mumbai and Pune bid farewell to their beloved Lord Ganesha as the ten-day Ganesh Chaturthi festival culminated today. The immersion is being carried on a low key and muted manner as the usual pomp and glory is missing this year, amid the COVID-19 pandemic.</span><br />'' <br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">In order to ensure safety during Ganesh Visarjan, the Mumbai Police is keeping strict vigil across the city. AIR Correspondent reports, devotees in masks bid farewell to their beloved Lord Ganesh without much fanfare. A total of 1,905 idols of lord Ganesha were immersed at various visarjan points in Mumbai. </span><br />'' <br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">In a bid to avoid crowding, the city police had appealed to people not to perform Aarti at the visarjan spots. Instead, they were asked to do the ritual at home before stepping out. Mandals or groups that organise the festival were told to strictly follow the COVID-19 norms. </span><br />'' <br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">In Pune, devotees carried out immersion of the five 'Manache Ganpati' keeping aside the  traditions and pomps. The immersions took place in artificial water tanks at the respective pandals. As per tradition, the Ganesh idol of Kasba Ganesh Mandal, the first 'Manache Ganpati', was placed in a palanquin and carried to the decorated water tank amid chants of Ganpati Bappa Moraya. Immersion of all five revered Ganpatis was carried out at the pandals by 2 pm.</span><br />''
