Providing much-needed relief for air travellers, Maharashtra's Deputy Chief Minister and Finance Minister Devendra Fadnavis on Thursday announced a reduction of Value Added Tax on Aviation Turbine Fuel from 25 to 18 per cent in Mumbai, Pune and Raigad districts.<br />''&nbsp;<br />''Announcing his first Budget as the State's Finance Minister, Mr. Fadnavis also announced that female employees drawing a monthly salary of up to 25,000 rupees will be exempted from Professional Tax.<br />''&nbsp;<br />''<span style="color: #222222;">Mr. Fadnavis has also proposed an Amnesty Scheme called 'Maharashtra Settlement of Arrears of Tax, Interest, Penalty or Late Fee Act, 2023'. <br />''<br />''Valid for various taxes levied by the GST Department before the introduction of GST, the scheme will offer a complete waiver of arrears if the amount is less than two lakh rupees, benefitting close to one lakh people. For dealers having arrears up to 50 lakh rupees, 80 per cent of the payable amount will be waived off.&nbsp;</span><br />
