Development works in LWE areas picked up during last 2 years: Rajnath Singh

Home Minister Rajnath Singh has said that development works in the Left Wing Extremism (LWE) areas have picked up during the last two years.<br/><br/>Reviewing the progress of the development works being undertaken in the LWE affected states at a meeting in New Delhi on Friday Rajnath Singh has stressed the need to build upon this progress further.<br/><br/>He called upon the affected states to finish the projects in hand at an even quicker pace, so that the people are benefitted and get access to services at par with other parts of the country.<br/><br/>Home Minister further said the death due to Left Wing Extremism incidents has declined by 42% in 2015 as compared to 2013. <br/><br/>During the meeting, special projects such as construction of roads, installation of mobile towers, development measures such as schools with hostel facility, Kendriya Vidyalayas, Navodaya Vidyalayas in the worst affected districts were discussed threadbare.<br/><br/>It was also decided to upgrade the multi-specialty hospital at Jagdalpur in Chhattisgarh.<br/><br/>Installation of mobile towers, increasing the reach of DD and AIR networks, improvement in programmes, expansion of railway lines, banking and postal services were also discussed in detail.<br/><br/>Chief Secretaries of Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand, Bihar, Andhra Pradesh, Odisha, Telangana and Maharashtra and the Secretaries of Railways, Road Transport , Environment, Information and Broadcasting, Communication and IT, and Health participated in the meeting.
