<span style="color: #222222;">Union Minister of State for Power (independent charge) R.K. Singh has said that electricity is fundamental requirement for every development work and the previous governments of Jammu &amp; Kashmir are responsible for power sector's worst condition in the Union Territory. AIR Jammu correspondent reports that the Minister this while attending a function in Jammu today. Mr Singh said that before 2014, India was in deficit in Power Sector but now things have changed under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He said that Centre will provide sufficient funds for development works in J&amp;K.</span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">&nbsp;</span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">The Minister said, the Union Territory has immense potential in Power Generation Sector and with implementation of these new projects, J&amp;K can increase its per capita income in this sector. He assured that development will now take place in J&amp;K and every household will get uninterrupted electricity within next two years.</span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">&nbsp;</span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">While addressing the gathering, MoS in PMO Dr. Jitendra Singh asserted that Narendra Modi Government is fully committed to equal development of all the regions. He said that recent DDC elections were held smoothly which is a big achievement as no untoward incident happened during these elections. He said that Several laws are now implemented in J&amp;K and minimum wages act will soon be implemented in the UT. Dr. Singh said that present dispensation is focusing on job creation and along with that major developmental works have been carried out in J&amp;K by Narendra Modi-led NDA Government. &nbsp;</span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">&nbsp;</span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">Speaking on the occasion, Lieutenant Governor, Manoj Sinha said that coming 3-4 years will be very significant for making Jammu and Kashmir self-sufficient in Power Sector. He said that per- paid meters would be installed across the UT which can help provide 24×7 electricity in Jammu and Kashmir.&nbsp;He also highlighted that Prime Minister's Development Package has helped significantly in improving infrastructure development in J&amp;K. He said with the investment of Over 35,000 crore rupees in several projects, the immense power potential of the Union Territory will be tapped.</span>
