Development takes precedence over everything in country after Modi becomes PM: Venkaiah Naidu

Union Urban Development and Information Broadcasting Minister M. Venkaiah Naidu said that development has taken precedence over everything in the country soon after Narendra Modi has become Prime Minister of the country. <br/><br/>Addressing the huge gathering on the occasion of laying the foundation stone for Bharat Electronics Ltd (BEL) for an Advanced Night Vision Products factory in Nimmaluru village of Pamarru mandal in Krishna district of Andhra Pradesh, along with Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, the Union Minister said that with the combination of Modi in Delhi and Chandrababu in Andhra Pradesh at the thick of the affairs development has become a reality even in the State after bifurcation. <br/><br/>He said the Centre is aware of the losses inflicted to Andhra Pradesh after bifurcation and is making every effort to support in its development and progress with the establishment several central institutes and PSUs. Mr. Venkaiah Naidu said the Centre is geared up to invest Rs six thousand crores in AP with the establishment of several defence production units in a phased manner. <br/><br/>He said BEL's Advanced Night Vision Products factory contains 87 per cent exclusively related to the defence utilities. He said the BEL's factory will be completed by 2018 and would accommodate 1200 people with employment. <br/><br/>The Union Minister said Agriculture and Industry has to go hand in hand for the country's development.<br/><br/>Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu said the overall development and growth of the State is the priority of his government and urged the Centre to extend handholding liberally. He said Union Minister Venkaiah Naidu, without any compromise is making every effort for the development and progress of the State.<br/><br/>The factory, coming up at Nimmaluru village will be the largest such facility in the country once commissioned. The proposed factory will be set up over 50 acres. <br/><br/>The new facility will be built in stages with an estimated investment of about Rs 300 crore over a four-year period. The new facility has been planned to establish a state-of-the-art factory to cater to the futuristic requirements for Night Vision Products. <br/><br/>The factory will enable BEL expand its Electro-Optics business and carry out manufacturing and integration for ongoing and upcoming projects. <br/><br/>BEL is coming up with a modern Defence Systems Integration Complex at Palasamudram in Ananthapur district of Andhra Pradesh to give further thrust to indigenous development and production of future defence systems.
