Union Science & Technology Minister Dr Harshvardhan has said that the development of North East region is the top most priority for Modi Government. <br/><br/>He said the present NDA government is focussing on the development and research in science and technology and innovations and for that budget has been enhanced by 60 to 63% in last three years. <br/><br/>Dr Harshvardhan was interacting with media persons at a function in Agartala yesterday evening organised to highlight the completion of 3 years of NDA government at the Centre. The Minister highlighted about enormous successes in various programmes and schemes adopted by the present government. <br/><br/>He added that in biotechnology sector, the government has spent 10% of total budget for North East region. He said that projects like 'Jigyasa' had been designed to help students get involved more in Science subjects and Incubation in Biotechnology, Startup-Stand up etc have opened up to larger segment of students community.<br/><br/>He expressed disappointment for showing less interest of Tripura Government in science related projects. However, he assured to provide full support of the ministry if the state government comes up with good projects. <br/><br/>During his visit, he attended various programmes organized by state unit of BJP in different parts of the state.
