In Uttar Pradesh, continuous overflowing waters on several roads lead to the blocked of three National Highways including many other road links in western part. Rail routes are also disturbed in Saharanpur and other areas.The National Highway from Panipat to Khatima is partially opened but Delhi -Lucknow and Delhi -Haridwar are still not functional. However National Highway 87 has been opened after twelve hours of closure.The flood water entered All India Radio and Doordarshan complex in Bareilly. AIR correspondent reports that the broadcasting of programmes have been affected badly.Congress President Sonia Gandhi and Defence minister A.K. Antony conducted an aerial survey of flood-hit Moradabad, Rampur and Bijnore districts. Both the leaders also took stock of the situation.In Uttarakhand, six more people were killed in a rain related incident whereas rescue and relief operation is in full swing with the help of Defence Personnel, ITBP and NDRF which were lashed due to incessant rain since last several days.AIR correspondent reports that Governor Margaret Alva has made an aerial survey in the affected areas of Garhwal.In Haryana, due to heavy rain in adjoining hills, the water level at Hathini Kund Barage is increasing continuously. AIR correspondent reports that 1,60,000 cusec water was discharged on Tuesday from the barage in Yamuna.
