Detailed forensic report on blast today: Chidambram

Home Minister P. Chidambaram has said detailed forensic report carrying critical evidence on the blast outside Delhi High Court is expected today. He said that experts in bomb blast who have been called from Forensic Laboratory, FSL, Gujarat are closely examing the same blast and are likely to come up with critical evidence regarding the nature of the blast soon. Home Minister also met the blast victims admitted in RML hospital. Talking to reporters he said that he has spoken to relatives of the injured and assured them that the doctors conveyed that best possible medical attention would be given to every injured. Secretary Internal Security in the Home Ministry U.K. Bansal told reporters that about two kilogram of explosives were used in the blast and the explosives used could be nitrate based. A nationwide alert has been sounded in the wake of the blast. All the states have been asked to step up vigil and take precautionary measures. The Prime Minister visited RML hospital immediately after arrival from Dhaka last night and met the blast victims admitted there. The Prime Minister has sanctioned an ex-gratia of two lakh rupees each from the Prime Minister’s National Relief Fund to the next of kin of the persons deceased in the blast. He has also announced one lakh rupees each to those who got seriously injured in the incident. Delhi Government has also announced a compensation of 4 lakh rupees to the next of the kin of those killed in the blast while those permanently incapacitated will get 2 lakh rupees. Apart from that, those seriously injured in the blast will get one lakh rupees while in case of any death of minor, the family will get 1.5 lakh rupees.
