India today expressed the hope for an early resumption of West Asia peace process. Speaking at a function in New Delhi to mark the international day of solidarity with the Palestinian people, the Minister of State for External Affairs, Mr. Shashi Tharoor said that continued expansion of settlements in the region is not helpful for the resumption of the peace process. He said that New Delhi wants that the tension in the region is resolved through dialogue, saying that it has a vital stake in peace in the region which is home to 4.5 million Indians. Expressing solidarity with the Palestinians, he said that India supports their pursuit of legitimate goals and efforts towards economic and social development.
