Mr Desh Deepak Verma who is a Uttar Pradesh Cadre IAS officer of 1978 batch will be the new Secretary in the in the ministry of Parliamentary Affairs.

According to an official release, the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has approved the appointment Mr Verma in the vacancy of S.Chandrashekaran who was retired recently.

At present, Mr Verma is working as a Director General, Sports Authority of India in the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports.

The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet also approved the extension of additional charge of the post of Director General, Directorate General of Civil Aviation to E.K.Bharat Bhusan for a further period of one year with effect from 1st of December last year or till the appointment of a regular incumbent.

Mr Bhusan is Additional Secretary and Financial Adviser in the Ministry of Civil Aviation.
