In a defining moment in the history of armed forces, for the first time a women officer of the Indian Air Force is participating in the Desert Storm Car Rally which kick stared in Ahmedabad today. According to an official release, the Indian Air Force has fielded Sqn Leader Jyothi Yerolkar as its first women officer to participate in the 2400 kilometer car rally. Sqn Ldr Jyothi qualified with top honours in the tough selection process where driving, navigation skills and knowledge of the vehicle were tested out.Out of the total 156 teams are participating in the event, three teams are fielded by the IAF. Our Correspondent reports that the rally will pass through Bhuj,Naliya, Jaisalmer, Bikaner and Jaipur before finally coming to an end in Delhi on 27th of this month.
