Deputy Foreign Minister of Afghanistan Hekmat Karzai today called on Minister of State M J Akbar and met Foreign Secretary S Jaishankar in his visit to India for attending Counter Terrorism Conference in New Delhi. <br/><br/>Briefing media this evening, External Affairs Ministry spokesperson Gopal Baglay said both sides exchanged views on the situation in Afghanistan and reviewed progress in implementation of the development cooperation projects and the decisions taken during the visit of Afghan President last year. <br/><br/>Mr Karzai apprised the Indian side of the current security situation and the efforts being made by Afghanistan towards peace and reconciliation in the country. The Indian side reiterated its commitment to continue to support the government and the people of Afghanistan in their efforts to build a peaceful, stable, prosperous and united country.
