Depression in Bay of Bengal likely to convert into Cyclone

In Andhra Pradesh, the district authorities of South Coastal region have been put on high alert to be ready to face any eventuality as the depression in the Bay of Bengal is likely to convert into a Cyclone. According to Met officials, four districts of South Coastal Andhra will get heavy to very heavy rains under the influence of Cyclone.State Revenue Minister D. Prasada Rao told reporters in Hyderabad a short while ago that all necessary measures have been taken to prevent loss of life and property. Control Rooms have been opened in Nellore, Prakasam, Krishna and Guntur districts and people from low laying areas are being shifted to relief camps. Food and other essentials commodities are being transported to the relief camps. The National Disaster Response Forces from Arakkonam in Tamilnadu are reaching Nellore. Meanwhile, the death toll rose to 37 due to heavy rains in the last week.
