The government has said that deposits in accounts opened under the Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana, PMJDY have now exceeded Rs. 25,000 crore.<br/><br/>Finance Ministry in a statement said, till 7th of this month, around Rs. 25147 crore have been deposited.<br/><br/>It also said, the PMJDY accounts having balances have now exceeded 60 per cent and the zero balance accounts reduced to less than 40 per cent.<br/><br/>As per RBI guidelines, accounts that can be opened under PMJDY are Basic Savings Bank Deposit Accounts which can be of zero balance.<br/><br/>PMJDY, a national mission on financial inclusion, had been launched with the main objective of covering all households with at least one bank account per household across the country.
