The Department of Posts has decided to set up 1000 automated Teller Machines, (ATM) across the country under its ongoing modernization plan. In a written reply in Rajya Sabha, minister of state for Communications and Information Technology Sachin Pilot said that 820 Head Post Offices have been selected for setting up ATMs. The remaining 180 Post Offices will be identified during the implementation phase.
