Dense fog, with biting cold, has engulfed North India, disrupting air, rail and road traffic. Temperatures in most parts settled below normal. Flight operations at the Indira Gandhi International Airport came to a standstill last night due to dense fog. Our correspondent reports, around 150 domestic and international flights were affected, causing inconvenience to passengers.
Kashmir Valley and Ladakh region experienced sub-zero temperatures as cold intensified and mercury plummeted several notches below the freezing point.
Dense fog accompanied with biting cold wave conditions disrupted normal life in Rajasthan as well, due to which many trains were running late.
Several parts of Punjab and Haryana remained engulfed under a thick blanket of fog due to which several trains criss-crossing the region ran hours behind schedule.
