Dense fog continued to disrupt train operation as railways cancelled 33 trains and rescheduled departure timing of five trains on Thursday.

There are as many as 23 trains mostly coming from Orissa, Bihar, Assam and West Bengal running several hours late due to weather condition in the northern region.

Seemanchal Express and Muri Express are running 20 hours late while Puri Express and Gomti Express are behind the schedule for 21 hours and 14 hours.

Railways have launched an SMS service to inform train position to passengers.

A senior Northern Railway official said that they have launched 9717631813 for SMS service on a trial basis and two more numbers will be announced soon to inform passengers about the arrival and departure of the train if the train number is send to the particular number.
