Dense fog continues to disrupt normal life in north India

Dense fog continues to affect normal life in Delhi, Punjab and Haryana. In the National Capital, thick blanket of fog disrupted air traffic. A number of flights in Indira Gandhi International Airport have either been cancelled or rescheduled. Dense fog affected normal life in Punjab, Haryana and Chandigarh. Minimum temperature dipped by up to five degrees below normal in the region. Cold wave intensified in Jammu and Ladakh regions while Night temperature slipped to 3.6 degrees C, below normal in Jammu. <br/>In Kashmir valley, Srinagar, recorded a low of minus 1.3 deg C, against minus 2.9 deg C yesterday.<br/>High altitude areas of Himachal Pradesh reeled under intense cold conditions due to sub-zero temperature though the weather remained pleasant in Shimla, the Queen of Hills, in the absence of rain or snow. In Uttar Pradesh, normal life continues to be disrupted following further increase in the intensity of cold wave. Our correspondent reports that the state capital Lucknow remained the coldest place where the temperature was recorded 3.2 degree Celsius. The fog still continues hampering normal life.
