Dengue scare: Delhi govt asks hospitals to make extra arrangements for beds

In view of the increasing number of cases of dengue in the National Capital, Delhi government has asked all hospitals to make extra arrangements for beds.

Delhi's Health Minister Dr Ashok Walia also reviewed the availability of platelets at 53 blood banks and found the quantity of platelets to be adequate. He said blood banks have been asked to deploy more staff to ensure that there is no shortage of platelets.

With some fresh dengue cases reported yesterday, the total number of patients infected with the vector-borne disease has gone up to 617 in Delhi.
