Dengue claims 41 lives since January this year

Dengue has claimed 41 lives across the country since January this year. Over 19 thousand seven hundred cases have been reported during the period. The maximum 19 deaths have been reported from Kerala followed by Tamil Nadu 5 and Karnataka and Maharashtra 4 each.<br/><br/>Besides, out of the total dengue cases, the maximum are from Karnataka. Talking to AIR, Director General Health Services, Dr Jagdish Pradash said, there is no need to panic as all arrangements are in place to tackle the situation. He said, hospitals have been directed not to refuse patients suffering from the disease. Mr Prasad also said, there is no dearth of platelets in the hospitals and it is available as per requirement.
