In Odisha, Dengue has so far claimed 14 lives. The malaria has also posed a big health problem in the remote parts for the state government. Anugul district was the epicenter of Dengue where more than 400 people found to have positive symptom. A high level medical team dispatched by the Center had visited Dengue affected coal mine areas of Telchaer in the Anugual district. The team is today submitting its finding to the state government. Meanwhile, the state government in a report to the National Human Rigths Commission has said that more than 82 thousand people have suffered from malaria mainly in three tribal infested areas of Kalahandi Bolangir and Koraput districts during the current year. However, the state Health Minister Prasana Acharaya asserted that decline of the growth in the positive samples is a good indication for the state that it is gradually containing Dengue problem.
