Union Minister of State for Power, Renewable Energy and Mines Piyush Goyal today said, the demonetisation exercise was a calculated move of the government thought over for the last two and a half years and was not an instant decision and it will continue.<br/><br/>Speaking on the 'importance of demonetisation' at a function organised by the Karnataka BJP in Bengaluru today, he however said the decision was kept a closely guarded secret and no one need to have any doubts about it. He said that demonetisation was not one step solution. <br/><br/>Mr Goyal emphasised the need to promote digital economy as it could save large amount of money for the nation, which can be used for the welfare of the people. He said, digitisation of economy did not mean end of cash (transactions). He mentioned about the need to educate the people of the advantages of digital economy.
