Government has said, demonetisation has not made any adverse impact on foreign tourist arrivals and foreign exchange earnings as these segments recorded a robust growth in November when the drive was launched. Tourism Ministry said, foreign footfalls saw a growth of 9.3 per cent in November. It said, the foreign exchange earnings registered a growth of 14.4 per cent at 14,474 crore rupees compared to 11,431 crores in the same period last year. The Ministry said, government has taken a number of steps post-demonetisation to ensure that no hardship is faced by tourists and the industry is not affected.
