Demonetisation has curtailed activities of majority of outlawed outfits across country: Jitendra Singh

Union Minister of State for North Eastern Affairs Dr Jitendra Singh said demonetisation has curtailed the activities of a majority of the outlawed outfits across the country. <br/><br/>Speaking to media in Visakhapatnam yesterday at the 20th edition of e-governance conference, he said terror activities of all the outlawed outfits came down by 60 per cent with the scrapping of big notes and crunch in funds and taking out high-value currency from circulation.<br/><br/>The Union Minister asserted that the terror outfits were forced to reduce their activities in the last couple of months. He said, the Centre's initiative has also showed up signs of positive impact on the economy by acting against black money and hawala transactions and the malady of fake currency adding that the note ban has brought 50 per cent of hawala transactions to a standstill. Dr Jitendra Singh said the government was according top priority to maximise governance with a minimum governmental intervention by harnessing IT to the fullest.
