Congress today alleged that demonetisation has crippled the economy. Senior party leader Prithviraj Chavan told reporters in New Delhi that the Prime Minister in his speech last night did not give any hard data on how much black money was extinguished due to demonetisation. <br/><br/>He also claimed that the scheme of financial assistance to pregnant women, announced by Narendra Modi, was actually started by the UPA. Mr Chavan said the speech also did not have clarity on the legal issues raised over note ban and compensation for deaths due to demonetisation exercise.
